Hard Core Logo Tribute Night

On August 14, 2008, we organized a tribute to Hard Core Logo, the greatest rock and roll film ever made (we deal in facts, folks). Below is the original post, announcing to scheduled line-up of bands and speakers. A few awesome surprises included the film’s writer, Noel S. Baker, and editor, Reg Harkema, making it out to field some questions, and Bucky Haight (Julien Richings) himself introducing the night’s music.

Thursday, August 14 @ the Revue Cinema, Toronto

Alright, kids.

We’ve got sweet dudes and ladies singing from the Flatliners, the Wooden Sky, Titan, Vilipend, Dance Electric, Spookey Rueben, Springloaded, and Little Millionaires (ex-Bombs Over Providence). And more to come. Plus unannounceable but very special SPECIAL GUESTS.

We’ve got rare CDs, shirts, and limited-pressing vinyl from Fat Wreck Chords, Underground Operations, Sudden Death, Black Box, Union Label Group, Dine Alone, Smallman, Atticus Clothing, Shadow Shows Films, and Exclaim! Magazine.

We’re going to have the best night ever. Tell all your friends. Seriously. That’s why we all got Facebook in the first place.

Hard Core Logo is the best Canadian film ever made. It’s so good that your main squeeze Quentin Tarantino picked it up for distribution in the States. And as Canadians, we gauge our successes on how much Americans accept us. But seriously, peep this.

Anyway, as poindexter superfans we’ve managed to secure director Bruce McDonald’s personal print of the movie, and he’ll be on hand post-film for an audience Q+A. We’ve also wrangled the Bovine’s hardcore karaoke band (featuring members of Maximum RNR, Dayglo Abortions, …And Hell Followed, Drunkula, the Sinisters, Dirty Chinese Thieves) and some totally fancy guest vocalists to perform songs from the movie pre-screening. Plus there’ll be prizes and shit from a bunch of hip places.

Basically, it’s the best night of your life.

Keep up to date on the Facebook Event.
