This EP is a real sweet friends-of-friends affair. Dustin got in touch with us about releasing the debut EP for his new band before we had ever met in person, we agreed ’cause the EP rules, and then we hung out in London and I was relieved to discover he was, in fact, a totally sweet dude. The whole thing is pretty demonstrative about what is great about punk rock in 2010; the internet shrinks our world and lets us makes friends and hear bands we’d never get to otherwise, and then we go hang out in person at a show and yap about how good Propagandhi is for an hour. Nice.

We are Stay Home from the Forest City – London Ontario. We formed in late summer of ’09 with a mutual goal of playing punk rock in the same vein as Latterman, Kid Dynamite, and Propagandhi. After six months of practicing and writing we got together with our good friend Kyle Ashbourne and recorded four songs. In total we spent about two days locked in our jam space with some great friends, a bunch of Pabst Blue Ribbon, and tons of Taco Bell. Our end result is our first EP, titled Cake, and a great new friendship with the wonderful people at Juicebox. We are overly happy that Sam and the other fine people at Juicebox took enough interest to help us share this with you. In all reality, if these dudes and dudettes at Juicebox weren’t so kind we would be releasing this to our 40 friends on MySpace.
